Eduar lives with his wife Diana Lorena and owns two farms, La Esperanza and Las Delicias. Eduar is a multi-generational coffee farmer. Eduar, like most young coffee producers, sees the financial benefit of focusing on high-scoring quality lots and building a portfolio of alternative varietals to showcase his high-altitude farm and the region's characteristics, alongside meticulous processing of the coffee cherries.

This Gesha lot had the coffee left in the cherry for 24 hours before floating, defect removal, and de-pulping. The pulped coffee was then left to dry-ferment for 55 hours in tubs, followed by gentle washing of the coffee before being slowly dried for 15 days. Eduar and Diana even have mechanical driers to make sure the coffee can get down to the optimal moisture level of 10-11% moisture. This is critical in times when it is too wet to dry coffee adequately.

This microlot is 100% Gesha. This varietal was first discovered in Abyssinia, Ethiopia in 1931. Gesha was planted in Panama for the first time in 1963 and in Colombia in 2005.
