Elías is an open-minded and hardworking producer in Pital, Huíla. His curious mindset has led him to work with the likes of Tim Wendelboe for 10+ years. Elías has been able to cultivate many varietals, from more basic Caturra, Castillo & Colombia varieties, to SL28, Gesha and various other more exotic ones.
We have two different lots this year from his farm, Finca Tamana – a Gesha and a Caturron variety. This Caturron variety is locally found in Huíla and is likely to be a wild mutation. We see it to have a similar characteristic to Typica, but a little more wild. There is a distinct herbal/floral flavour and a sweet bell pepper fruitiness.
